Subject: Nanisivik reports - request for extension


Good afternoon Phyllis,

As you are aware, 7 reports/plans pertaining to the Nanisivik Mine were circulated by the NWB for review and comment between April 14 and April 19.  Reviewers were provided with a 30-day period in which comments on these reports could be submitted to the NWB.

We are underway with our review of these reports, however do not believe we will be able to meet the 30 day deadlines.  We therefore respectfully request extensions for the reports, with accompanying estimates on when our review will be complete:

Report reviews that can be completed by May 20:
-2004 Geotechnical Inspection
-Instrument Installation and contingency Plan
-3rd Quarter report on Reclamation
-2004 Annual Water Report
-Reclamation of K-baseline Area

Report reviews that can be completed by June 24:
-Mine stability
-Mine openings Closure Plan


We hope that the NWB will be able to entertain our request for these extensions.
