Thank you for asking about the project and I apologize for not getting back to you before now. The Nanisivik Naval Facility project is currently in Phase 2 of the design process. This is the Concept Design and Design Development phase. We have just completed a workshop here in Ottawa, where we reviewed site design concepts from our Consultant, WorleyParsons Westmar, of North Vancouver, BC. The Consultant prepared drawings for two (2) site layout options, including building and tank layout, jetty upgrades, mechanical systems, water and wastewater treatment, etc. We have reviewed the options and provided feedback. The outcome of this work is that we now expect to concentrate on one (1) concept for the site. We are now in a position where we will engage our environmental Consultant, Stantec Inc., to begin work on completing the NIRB Part II document. It is expected that we will meet with Stantec within the next two (2) weeks to begin this work. But I cannot yet advise as to when the form will be complete. I realize that this is taking much longer than expected. We were affected by the recession and our design work was put on hold for nearly six (6) months earlier this year due to funding limitations. We were only able to re-start in August 2010. Robert Bellizzi has moved on from his position at DCC, but he is not far away. He has joined DND in the Director General Environment group; not far away. I'm certain you will hear from him again on other projects. From this point on, I will be your official Point of Contact for the project. I have copied Mr. Louis LeMay, the NNF Project Manager on the DCC side of the house, as you may hear from him if I am absent. Louis and I have worked together on arctic projects for many years and he is familiar with the requirements of the north. Hi Rod, I’ve tried to get in contact with Robert Bellizzi via email and by telephone to get an update on the Nanisivik file that is with our board. I have not received a response from him and when I contacted him by telephone, the telephone message was a different person. I was wondering if he is still working on this file and/or still working for DCC. If not, could you please provide me with information on the new contact for this file? In addition, could you provide me with an update on the Nanisivik file and the status of the NIRB Part 2 form?
