Dear Mr. Cariere,
I received a copy of your email to Jim Wall
regarding your application. I have requested my staff to look into the matter.
It appears that an email message sent from Phyllis Beaulieu's desk on January
17, 2005 did not reach you, although it did reach everybody else on the
distribution list. During that time, Ms. Beaulieu was away on holidays, but
someone in our office should have caught the error. This did not happen. From
now on, our policies regarding the use of email will include a formal
requirement to request a confirmation from email recipients that they have
received an email communication.
The letters attached are asking for additional
information from you, and we can give you as much time as you need to respond. I
will personnally ensure that your application is given top priority and will be
dealt with immediately upon receiving the information requested from you. On
behalf of the NWB, I would like to apologize for any problem caused by our
oversight and take full responsibility for it.
Sincerely,
Philippe di Pizzo
Executive Director
