A copy of your spill contingency plan should also have been provide to: 1. the Nunavut Water Board, under its authority over "waters" as defined in the Nunavut Waters and Nunavut Surface Rights Tribunal Act (NWNSRTA) and under section 12 of the same Act; 2. the INAC Water Resource Office appointed under the NWNSRTA as an Inspector and with authority under section 86; and 3. the operator or site manager of the barges and tug so the documents can be provided at the request of an Inspector designated under the NWNSRTA. The Spill Contingency Plan should followed the guidance of the Spill Contingency Planning and Reporting Regulations under the Nunavut Environmental Protection Act, including the use of the Nunavut Spill Report form and a list of Regulatory Spill Reporting Requirements for Nunavut, such as the INAC Inspector, Environment Canada and Nunavut Department of Environment. The spill plan should also contain details and any agreements for assistance and response from/by the local residents of the community of Baker Lake.
