A response to the comments made by the various parties is in the works. I have already asked Paula Siwik, Environment Canada, to provide a copy of the 2003 Lupin Historical Report to Tania Gordanier (DFO). This 2-volume report will provide her with the biological data that she was requesting. Other technical comments are being dealt with but a consolidated response is not expected to be forthcoming until February because of the schedule of one of our prime contractors. As mentioned in our conversation, I see late February or early March as the most likely timeframe for a technical meeting. I appreciate that the Water Board and other regulatory bodies have a busy technical schedule ahead of them, but it will take time to address the comments raised. Regards, Mike Michael Tansey, P.Eng. There was a request made to have Kinross respond to the earlier request of the Board in a letter from November 10, 2005 addressing the receipt of comments from interested parties and Kinross' time frame for addressing the comments as well as providing an estimated date(s) for a technical meeting to discuss the A&R Plan prior to proceeding to a public hearing. It was understood from our discussion that the earliest possible timeframe for a tech meeting might be the beginning of March. Keep in mind that it may not be necessary, or in the best interest of KGC to schedule a tech meeting date that may not allow enough time for a PH and the proceeding with reclamation plans in the summer of 2006 that may require Board approval. It may not be necessary to have ALL of the comments addressed prior to the tech meeting, but may be beneficial. These issues could still be addressed prior to the public hearing. Other issues that should be kept in mind when looking at the time frame for a meeting, are the other projects that interested parties will be involved with during this same time frame and the resources that may be available to participate in the Lupin discussions. If you could, please respond to the letter of Nov.10/05 confirming 1) the status of your review of the submitted comments, and 2) a possible date or potential timeframe for a technical meeting, or that Kinross will provide this information at its earliest convenience. Thanks for your attention to this matter, Regards, Dave ____________________________________ David Hohnstein, C.E.T. Technical Advisor Mining Nunavut Water Board P.O.
