Subject: NWB1BOS0106 2003 Annual Report
Good Friday afternoon Hugh,
In going through the annual reports you've submitted, I've
got a few clarification questions on the 2003 Boston Annual report that should
be addressed prior to the report being distributed for review. They are as
follows;
1) the sample date for 1652-3 in July is the 23rd however
this is different than the other two stations which indicate sampling on the
13th; is this the correct date?
2) for station 1652-3 a TSS value of 71mg/l is reported in
the Annual, however the value in the Monthly is 171mg/l; which is
correct?
3) for station 1652-3 on July 23rd, the BOD is reported in
the Annual as <2mg/l, however the value in the Monthly is
255mg/l?
4) the monthly water use table included in the annual
report contains values that do not coincide with the monthly reports for Jun,
Jul, Aug and Sept? The August/Sept monthly contained a combined value, however
the two values reported in the Annual do not add up? and,
5) Table 1 of the SNP lists off several parameters that
are required for sampling even though they are not included under the sewage
effluent quality standards of Part D, Item 7. None of the monthly reports,
nor the annual report make mention of results for these parameters. Field
pH, sample temperature, ambient wind and weather conditions are also ommitted.
In addition, the reports do not include any of the QA/QC information
that is required under the current QA/QC Plan with respect to replicate sampling
and field blanks.
In order to reduce the amount of questions that may
surface during the review of the Boston Report, it would be beneficial to have
these items clarified prior to distribution. There did not appear to be any
outstanding issues with respect to the NWB2HOP licence.
If you need clarifcaction on any of the above, please do
not hesitate to contact me at your earliest convenience.
Thanking you in advance for your assistance in this
matter,
Regards,
Dave
