Subject: NWB2BAF renewal
Importance: HighHi ya Phyllis, enjoying your weekend yet????Question on this BAF renewal (just printed off this one and YAV)On central, I found a couple letters from Alex T. to DeBeers requesting both their SCP and A&R Plans be revised and resubmitted with necessary changes to reflect a site specific plan. Their SCP especially did not have any Nunavut contacts, these are in the true sense "generic" plans. The Plans submitted with this renewal are no better and in some ways less detailed than the ones submitted in 2002.The letters from Alex were dated June 25, 2002 and specifically stated that the plans were to be submitted "prior to commencement of activities under the licence"Unless De Beers has submitted these plans, and I doubt they had otherwise they would've included them with the application for renewal, I don't think we should be renewing the licence until these plans have been submitted and approved. The previous licence has expired as of September 1, 2004 and this application didn't come in until, I think April 14/05.Please confirm that the requested plans haven't been received, and Philippe, I guess I'm looking for some advice on whether to proceed or go back to De Beers for the Plans? On another topic, EC comments, item 9, suggests that keeping fuel through the winter at their fuel cache is not an acceptable practice and that all fuel must be removed at the end of the season? Is this standard? I didn't know this was a requirement or was it always just assumed? I'm sure there's gov't fuel caches all over the territories that have been there for more than just one season? Is this something we should be including in our licences? Thanks,Dave
