Department of the Environment and INAC for De Beers Canada Inc.’s application
NWB2BE-BAFand NWB2BE-PCD please see the following items to address the
recommendations:
Concerns raised regarding the Spill
Contingency Plan:
Attached are revised copies of the
Plan (OP 064)

Concern: Location of fuel
drums. Attached is a copy of our Petroleum Product Handling
Procedure (OP 030) which addresses specifies storage distance from a water body
in the General Requirements Section as well as regular inspections. The
Daily and Weekly Camp Inspection Checklists (CL 006 & CL 013) which provide
from regular inspections of fuel caches are also
attached.
Concern: Manifesting of
Hazardous Waste. Attached is a copy of our Waste Disposal Procedure (OP
022) which addresses shipments of hazardous/subject
waste.
Concern – Drill hole close out and
final inspection– Attached is a copy our procedure for Environmental Protection
for Surface Drilling Programs (OP 017), Abandonment of Exploration Activity, (OP
