      Dear Sir or Madam:

      It has come to my attention that the Nunavut Impact Review Board is considering an application from Uravan Minerals, for development of their uranium property right on the caribou calving ground, just south of Garry Lake (Back River).  ( listed under: ftp://ftp.nirb.ca/REVIEWS/CURRENT_REVIEWS)

      I wish to express my objection to this proposal.  The Beverly caribou herd is already under considerable pressure and population estimates are down considerably in recent years.  

      The impact of this development will have severe negative consequences for the caribou and this vital wilderness area.
