As you know, the Beverly Herd is in crisis, and any impediment to it’s recovery should be avoided at all costs. There are too many mineral projects in and around the Thelon basin already (I know this as I have invested in most of them), and their impact on the Caribou is most lamentable. Please do not allow this project to proceed in this sensitive area. As both an investor and adventurer to the Thelon River, I am, as are many other Canadians, vitally interested in the wild and beautiful Barrens, for both their minerals and fauna. Having spent a couple of weeks on the Thelon just this past summer and not finding any Caribou to photograph was very disappointing. I cannot help but believe that the pressure being put on their calving grounds and migration paths is partly responsible for the precipitous and very regrettable decline in these magnificent herds, which form a central part of the iconography of our great nation. Many thanks, __________________________ Andrew Cumming, PhD. office: 416 498 6394 cell: 416 938 0743
