Given the shocking decline in the size of this herd suggested by last Spring's survey, allowing this development and others like it to proceed may well represent the final nail in the coffin for these animals. As Canadians, we collectively need to do more than pay lip service to the protection of crucial wildlife habitat. This should be a clear cut example of a case where the interests of the country in sustaining what wildlife we have left outweigh the interests of industry. Actions speak louder than words, and it is time to demonstrate whether we are serious about pulling these iconic Canadian animals back from the brink. Sincerely, Daniel Rice.
