Greetings, I am writing from Toronto, Ontario, to urge you to deny Uravan Mineral's application for mineral development on the calving grounds of the Beverly caribou herd. As an avid canoeist, I have had the opportunity to see these amazing animals in the wild. I understand, though, that the herd has declined up to 98% over the past five years. Industrial activity has played a significant role in this decline, and the herd's recovery will be rendered next to impossible if the most critical part of their habitat (the calving grounds) is taken over by industrial activity. Please see to it that this doesn't happen. Your support of the caribou herd is crucial at this critical time. Thank you for considering this most important issue. Sincerely, Alison Pick -- www.alisonpick.com
