Though there were many highlights we only saw one caribou on this trip. It is my understanding that the Beverly Caribou Herd, of which this solitary animal was a part, is in serious decline and could be totally extirpated if the application from Urawan Minerals to develop their uranium property on the calving grounds of the Beverly herd south of Garry Lake is granted.
