Dear Nunavut Impact Review Board : 

  I wish to express my dismay at, and opposition to, the application by Uravan to develop a uranium mining property on the Beverly caribou calving grounds.  Given the environmental impact of mining development in this area to a caribou herd already in crisis, it would appear that approval of the Uravan Garry Lake Project (NIRB File 08EN037) would be catastrophic to the herd.  Mining is an important industry that is,
and will continue to be,  a central part of the economy of Nunavut; however to mine this area would clearly be inappropriate.
