Greetings,

I have worked briefly in the western arctic for COPE under the direction of Nellie Cournoyer, and in Saskatchewan for some years in cooperations with the Metis and Non-Status Indians and the Native Women's organizations.

I've learned, as a white southerner, just how outrageously power and money and short-term greedy goals have dominated and steamrollered over the well being of the native people and their habitats.

Mineral explorations from the outside have never to my knowlege in Canada been of benefit to the local groups, PR notwithstanding.

I firmly oppose the application for mineral exploration near the Cariboo calving grounds.
