Subject: Mining on Beverly Herd Calving Grounds
We are shocked to hear that the Nunavut Government is even considering granting permission for mining development on the Beverly herd calving grounds. I thought the Inuit were protectors of the land and their traditional food sources. As frequent travellers on your arctic rivers and in your communities, we wish to register our strongest opposition to any disturbance of any caribou calving grounds in Nunavut and the NWT.
