From: John Blachford [john@blachford.ca] Sent: January 1, 2009 3:00 PM To: lpayette@nirb.ca Cc: 'Jb' Subject: Beverly Caribou Herd Follow Up Flag: Follow up Flag Status: Red Dear Sir, As some one who have had the great pleasure of paddling down the Hood River in Nunavet and seeing along the way a few hundred caribou, and experiencing the beauty of the barrenlands, and also as someone who knows that the value of the caribou to the local people is approximately $20 million, and that the herd has drastically been reduced in size lately, possibly because of mining exploration activities, I am strongly opposed to your granting Uravan Minerals the right to the development of uranium property in an area - or even close to the area - where the Beverly Caribou herd give birth to their calves every year.
