Subject: Re: Request for drilling with 30 m of water body
Mr. Wall: As the KIA is the authority for granting access to Inuit Owned Land Parcel No. CO-29/76M where the proposed geotechnical boreholes are to be drilled within 30 m of a water body, we have no concerns with the request. The access is granted as KIA understands that the drilling fluid will be surface water without additives and the water is to be discharged through infiltration 30 m or greater from the high water mark.
Thank you.

Subject: Request for drilling with 30 m of water body

Good morning, everyone:

Please find attached a request from Wolfden Resources Ltd., to undertake drilling within the 30 m setback from the bodies of water described therein.  Basically, the Licensee wants to drill 2 holes (25 m depth) , to ascertain the geotechnical conditions in an area that may have applicability as a potential tailings storage area.  The Licensee describes the proposed use of water required, and indicates that no waste material will be deposited within 30 m of the water bodies.  The location of the proposed activity is provided on the attached maps.

Given that the weather is rapidly degrading in the Kitikmeot, the company is anxious to wrap up their program as soon as possible.  To that end, I would appreciate it if you could provide your comments by September 10, 2004.  If you are unable to review the document before then, then please drop me an email, and we will extend the review period as required.

Again, thanks for your time, and have a great day.

Best regards,
