regarding UNOR Inc.’s Mouse Lake Exploration
Project.
The following is a summary of the
information contained in the attached letter.
On February 26, 2007, the Nunavut
Impact Review Board (NIRB or Board) received an application from the Kitikmeot
Inuit Association (KIA) for UNOR Inc. to conduct mining exploration in the Mouse
Lake Area. NIRB is of the understanding this project proposal has been
previously screened under NIRB File No.: 06EN009 for the Indian and Northern
Affairs Canada (INAC) Land Use Application #N2006C0001 in order for UNOR Inc.
(formerly Hornby Bay Exploration Limited) to conduct mining exploration in the
Mouse Lake Area. On March 27, 2006, NIRB issued a 12.4.4(a) Screening Decision
to INAC allowing the project proposal to proceed subject to specific terms and
conditions.
By copy of this letter NIRB is
advising parties that may have an interest in this application of the Board’s
intention to exempt this application from screening on the basis that: the
application has been previously permitted to proceed; and the exceptions in
12.4.3(a) and (b) do not apply. Any party objecting to the proposed screening
exemption must advise NIRB in writing of the objection within seven (7) days,
