Under completion date (section 15 of the application) the proponent states on going. Licences are set for a specific amount of time, ongoing is not definitive. 2. the only decision point i could find within the application around project time lines was found on page two paragraph 4 of the project summary which states "should results warrant it, a program similar in timing....would occur in 2008. There is no mention of potential activities beyond 2008. I understand it is onerous for the NWB to continually grant exploration licences, and the preference of the NWB is to grant 5 year licences. However, with respect to this project INAC felt the licence length should reflect the information presented in the application. Finally, with respect to the use of the word extension. I am aware the Nunavut Water Board does not issue extensions, the intent of the statement should be understood to mean renewal or amendment. In the future I will avoid the use of such terminology. - stephen. I reference the paragraph in your April 20th letter where you indicate that "should the proponent wish to extend their activities beyond two years of operation they may do so through filing a licence extension to 2BE-SIL with the Nunavut Water Board". I just want you to be aware that the Nunavut Water Board does not issue extensions. Also, can you please provide more specifics on your recommendation to not issue this license for more than 2 years. Thanks. ________________________________ Phyllis Beaulieu Manager of Licensing Nunavut Water Board P.O.
